Breakfast with Santa

This morning we had breakfast with some of our favorite friends and their mommies!  Even Santa dropped by for some pictures! We had so much fun!  Not everyone was super excited to see Santa, but he was a good sport about it!

 I made these bags for everyone to take home and decorate Christmas cookies.

 We had fruit, french toast casserole, cinnamon rolls, muffins, bacon, pancakes, and mimosas for the mommies!

O' Christmas Tree

Continuing with our 25 days of Christmas we went to get our Christmas tree and Nolan's ornament for this year.  We picked out a guitar ornament in tribute to his year of rock band.  It plays Run, Rudolph, Run via a "beep beep" (button), so he loved it! 

 He has a little tree in his room to hang all of his ornaments.  At night we turn on Christmas music and the lights on his tree before he goes to bed.  I love how christmasy it makes his room feel!

Jonathan and I love getting our Christmas tree each year, but this year was even more fun with our helper!  How cute is his little Christmas Tree Truck shirt made by our sweet friend Holly?!?

Day 3

So far our 25 days of Christmas has been slightly derailed by a bloody nose, a cranky little boy, and working late.  We were supposed to get our tree tonight, but that will have to wait for tomorrow.  Instead we went with making Christmas cookies and it turned out to be a lot of fun!

  How cute is his little apron!!!  It was a sweet gift last Christmas from a sweet friend!  Just so you know I have a matching one! 

Rudolph came early this year...

I was all excited to get started with our 25 days/activities of Christmas today.  Instead of having candy or toys in our advent calendar we have different Christmas activities.  Everything from breakfast with Santa to baking Christmas cookies to singing Christmas carols.  Tonight's activity was a little derailed when I got a call from Nolan's teacher saying he had fallen and hit his nose pretty hard.  I came down to find a red nosed little boy with big crocodile tears.  (No worries because he was still able to say "cheese" for the pic)  His nose has bled most of the night (I think mostly because he continues to hit it on things), but he is doing much better.  It was pretty cute when I came down to see him, I told him he looked like Rudolph with a big red nose and he kept pointing to the Rudolph on his shirt.  We had to settle for listening to Christmas music tonight.  Maybe tomorrow's activity will go better!   

Falling Leaves

 We haven't had a ton of leaves in our yard so Grandma and Grandpa made sure to save us some.  Nolan had a great time playing with D in the leaves!  D had to show Nolan what to do a few times, but then he quickly got it and loved it!

 

The Kids Table

 We had a great thanksgiving spending time with family and friends!  Nolan had lots of turkey and  even some pie!  Very tasty!  For some reason Nolan decided to get up at 4:00 AM on black friday.  I think he was just ready to go shopping.  He was up... we were up... so we headed out to do a little shopping.  It didn't last long, but we did pick up a few things.  That night we had some family and friends over to celebrate the season.  Everyone brought over treats and we all got to spend some time together.  My favorite part of the evening was the kids table.  I thought it turned out pretty cute!

   Don't worry there was food for the adults too.... just not as cute!

Two Turkeys at the Trot!

One of my favorite parts of Thanksgiving is the Turkey Trot!  You feel a little better about that second helping if you get out a little that morning.  Last year we left Nolan at home, so I was really excited about getting this family tradition started.  I was a little nervous about how he was going to do during the race.  Luckily we had some friends that were also taking their little one to the trot.  We started out that morning with both the little ones in their strollers, by the end of the race there were two babies being held and two mommies pushing empty strollers!  The race passed by where we had parked about the same time we passed the two mile sign.  These two mommas might be crazy, but we are not dumb!  We headed for the warm car and waited for the daddies!  Maybe next year we will make it to the finish line!
