Birthday Party Part 2

Nolan was a little tired after all the excitement at school, so we went home for a little power nap (and I do mean little)! We had all the Grandparents and Aunt Veazey over for a pizza party! Nolan loved all of the attention! He went from Grandparent to Grandparent having a great time!

We had some homemade pizza and salad.  You might think 4 large pizzas is too much for 9 people, but you would be wrong!

Next it was time for cupcakes! Nolan is getting pretty good at eating cupcakes!

Then it was time to open presents!!!

What an amazing day!!!  Nolan had so much fun and so did we!!!  He wasn't too excited when it was time to go to bed though....

Sweet Dreams, Mr. One Year Old!

Birthday Party Part 1

Nolan's Birthday started off with a family breakfast at The Original Pancake House. Nolan ate three pancakes and some sausage! He loves pancakes! Daddy then took him to school with a pinata to start the celebration!  Apparently, latex balloons are not very child friendly and are on the "restricted" list as his school, so instead we brought balls and lots of them!  The kids loved playing with them especially Nolan!

We also brought bubble wands for each of the kids in his class to take home!  The bubbles were also a big hit!

Poor Mr. Pinata didn't last long after he gave rides around the classroom!  He had survived a year in our house (he was from one of our baby showers), but couldn't survive 8 toddlers!

Since Nolan was having another party later in the day, I decided to do something different for his school party.  We had ice cream and the cutest ice cream shaped cookies!

Nolan had a great time!  He ate his ice cream and most of his friend's!  Oh well!  He only has his first birthday once!

Happy 1st Birthday!

Dear Nolan,

I can't believe it has already been one year! You are growing so fast! I love experiencing every minute of it! Right now you are walking. You say mama, dada, more, hi, and woof woof (a.k.a. Mattie). You don't have a lot of hair, but it is the most beautiful blond. Your eyes have stayed blue except for a tiny brown spot on the bottom of your right eye. You love playing with Mattie, throwing balls, and being outside! Grapes are probably your favorite food, but you also like goldfish, pancakes, spaghetti, and tacos. You talk to yourself for about thirty minutes before you fall asleep at night. You have had seven ear infections and one set of tubes. Yuck! You don't like your breathing treatments, being in jail (the pack and play), melon, and tomatoes. You are into everything and love taking things to people. You tell people "hi" about 10 minutes after they have walked away. School started off a little rocky (I thought they were going to kick you out at one point!), but now you love it! I look forward to you waking up in the morning to see you smile and I love when you lay your sweet head on my shoulder before you fall asleep each night! I can't wait to see you continue to grow up, but not too fast! We love you!

Happy 1st Birthday, Sweet Boy!

In the News...

This is a news clip from the center I work at....

This is Daddy's fault, not Mommy's!

Dear Nolan,

I want you to know that I while I did take this picture, this is not my fault!  It is Daddy's!  Daddy took you to school on this day and it was his responsibility to bring extra clothes for you.  So when you look back and see this picture where you are wearing no pants, shoes, a long sleeved shirt (It was 80 degrees on this day! No need for long sleeves!), and a funny hat, please know that Mommy loves you and would have never done this to you!  I may take pictures of your pain, but I would never cause it!  I haven't yet anyway....

Music Class Mayhem

We missed our regular music class last week, so we went this morning to a make-up class at a different location.  Nolan was a little shy at first this morning, I am not sure if it was because we were not with our regular friends or if it was because daddy was there.  He warmed up after a while and had a great time!  He even threw a maraca at one of our new friends... not sure if they will be excited to see us return.  Here are some pics from the morning.  Some of them are a little fuzzy, not sure why?

Ducks, Bunnies, and Eggs

We had a really great Easter Day!  We got up and went to church, breakfast tacos at Tin Star, and then after a short nap we headed to Grandma and Grandaddy's for lunch.  We got there just in time to feed the ducks that were taking a rest in the pool!

The Easter Bunny made a stop at Grandma and Grandaddy's and look at all the eggs he left for Nolan!

We went for a wagon ride around the backyard!

Last but not least, we dyed Easter eggs and Mommy's fingers!

Dying Easter Eggs is slightly less messy in the buff!

I could not resist posting this pic!  Do you think he had fun?

I think Grandaddy had fun, too!
