My Funny Valentine

Our Valentine's Day started out a little rough.  Nolan decided that he didn't want to go to sleep until 11:00 last night and then woke up several time throughout the night.  Daddy stayed home to eat breakfast with us and then headed to work.  We started to get ready for a Valentine's party until we realized that Daddy seemed to have lost my keys and taken the spare.  Nolan walked around the house saying "Where mommy keys.... party".

We didn't make it to the party, but we had a fun day just the two of us!  I tried to make it extra special so we had heart shaped everything, he wore his new cars PJs, ate chocolate covered craisens, read Valentine's books, and watched Cars.  For dinner he had spaghetti and ate it Lady and the Tramp style...

If you are wondering why he is eating shirtless you have obviously never seen my son eat spaghetti!  Happy Valentine's Day!

What a weekend!

We had quite a weekend!  It was full of a valentine's day party, grandparents, and 2 birthday parties!  Nolan was pooped by the end, but he had a terrific time!

His school party was on Friday.  He brought Gerber daisies to each of his teachers.  He was so excited and cute when he walked in with them and told each of the teachers "Happy Day!".   His class valentine's were shovels with cookies that said "I Dig You!"

Nolan had a blast handing out his valentine's and eating his snacks!

He was also invited to two birthday parties on Saturday.  The first was for his friend Will, who had an adorable monkey party.  Nolan devoured a monkey cupcake and about a million goldfish.  He also got to make his own monkey and decorate a shirt for him.  Will's mom put together quite a party!

Next we headed tohis friend Savannah's Sesame Street birthday.  They had all sorts of fun activites.  There was a balloon artist and a guy doing caricatures, but Nolan paid them no attention.  He dropped her present at the door as soon as he saw a bounce house filled with balloons and balls.  He had the best time boucing and jumping and pummeling small children.  I am pretty sure they were happy to see us leave!

It was a great weekend!  Happy Birthday Will and Savannah!

Sensory Box

Nolan loves playing in his sensory box.  I try to add different things to it for each season, but cups and shovels always end up being the most fun!

More Snow Day Fun...

We are happy to be spending another snow day at home!  Fun breakfasts are a big part of our mornings at home.  This morning Nolan had one of my all time favorite breakfasts... pancake people!

We are starting to run out of activities (and holidays), but had fun making valentines, playing with legos, making pizza, and doing a little cleaning.  Please ignore the fact he is still in his PJ's, especially since they are Christmas pajamas!

Please Note: Unlike the bacon in the top picture the pizza is not burnt, I mixed the tomato sauce with some spinach.

Someone was pretty proud of himself and the very tall lego tower he made all by himself.

Helping mommy clean the boot prints off the floor!  Fireman hat added bonus!

Super Bowl Fun

We had some of our favorite friends over to watch the Super Bowl!  I am pretty sure Nolan has a new girl friend, because he followed Morgan around the entire night!  Nolan also decided that the only way to watch the Super Bowl is with some face paint.... unfortunately he was only able to find an ink pen!

We had some delicious food and got to spend the evening with some of our favorite people!

Hey There Mr. Snowman!

Snow Day #4:  We are definately going a little crazy here with all this togetherness!  Jonathan stayed home with us today and I don't know who is more excited!  Nolan has been wanting to go outside all week and today we were finally able to get out of the house.

We had lots of fun making our "snowman", having snowball fights, and making snow angels!  Nolan really liked playing in the snow, but he is still not a fan of hot chocolate!

Happy Chinese New Year!

If we end up home for a forth day in a row we are really going to have to really stretch to find a holiday to celebrate, but today we celebrated the Chinese New Year!  We made lanterns and moon cakes.  Nolan thought the moon cakes were very tasty!

I also made Nolan a cape thinking it would be something fun for us to play with... he wore it for about 2 minutes and was done with it.  Oh well... he did look super cute in it!

Poor Mr. Groundhog....

It kind of looks like he got hit by a car....

Happy Groundhog Day!!!

We are home for another snow day!  We tried to be a bit more productive today and even did a little cleaning.... very little.  We have been doing our best to celebrate Groundhog's Day.  We started off the morning with some Punxatawney Phil pancakes.
Later we played with our pop-up Phil toy and ate groundhog cupcakes.

Tonight we will be having Groundhog loaf.  I'll let you know how it turns out.
Nolan really loves school, especially music time and arts & crafts.  The Wheels on the Bus is currently his favorite song (particularly the wheel and horn part).  They learned about farms last month, with planting seeds and making butter.  So we decided to make some bread and butter today as well.  It was a big hit!
Right now we are hoping for a third snow day and trying to stay warm!

Keeping Warm and Staying Cool!!!

Thanks to Nolan's new hat from our sweet friend Lisa and mama of this cutie...

Snow Day!!!

We live for snow days in this house!  It is even better when Daddy stays home too!  We started the morning very early singing the "No School Today" song to Aunt Veazey!  She wouldn't admit it, but it is her favorite part of a snow days too!  It has been a bit of a challenge today.  It is actually one of the rare snow days we have where it is too yucky to get on the roads, so we have to find activities and food in the house.  A bit scary!  We had snowman pancakes for breakfast!

Nolan and I have been working on a garland for his valentine's day party and valentine's for his friends!  We also made homemade marshmallows to take to our neighbors with some hot chocolate!  We might have also made some decorations for tomorrow.....
