Ride'em Cowboy!

Today we celebrated Nolan's 2nd birthday with a cowboy party!  It was lots of fun and we got to see lots of family and friends!

We had lots of treats fit for a cowboy, including smores pops, bottled root beer, sliders, and fruit kabobs.

The cake didn't turn out quite how I wanted it to, but it was still pretty cute!

My mom and I made stick horses for each of the kids to take home.

Nolan loved the petting zoo and riding sweet Cinnamon!

It was a great day filled with lots of fun memories!
Happy Birthday Nolan!

Birthday Fun!

We had a great day together and started off Nolan's birthday with some delicious chocolate chip pancakes!  We even had sprinkles on top!

Next Nolan put on his "2" shirt and headed to school!  Thanks Holly for the shirt!  It is adorable!

Later in the day I headed to Nolan's school for his school birthday party.  We had a zoo themed party.  Everything turned out pretty cute and I think the kids had a fun time.

We then headed home for the last party of the day.  A cowboy themed party with family.

 Happy Birthday Big Boy!

Happy Birthday Mr. Two Year Old!!!

Dear Nolan,

It doesn't seem like it has been a whole year since the last time I wrote a birthday letter.  You have grown so much!  You are now over 3 feet tall and are talking all the time!  You love singing songs!  Your favorites are Baa, Baa Black Sheep, "Happy Day" (Happy Birthday), and the ABC song.  Every night before you go to sleep you listen to James Taylor and while I am rocking you, you turn, look at me, smile, and say, "sing mommy, sing".  You love painting, bubbles, playing outside, cooking, and helping us do daily tasks.  Cars and Toy Story are your favorite movies.  You love talking on the phone.  It doesn't last long, but you love calling people.  You are no stranger to Time Out, as a matter of fact some mornings you visit it a couple of times before we even leave the house.  You have gotten so much better at your breathing treatments and we have had to do them a lot less often.  Breakfast is your favorite meal of the day.  You love most fruit, pancakes, cheerios, goldfish, edamame, pizza, and "chicken pie" (chicken pot pie).  You are a great eater and can even eat with your special chop sticks.  You love to "cheers" your glass to ours and pretty much anything else.  Our favorite family time is first thing in the morning when you climb into our bed and ask for "toons" (cartoons), milk, and cheerios.  You think everything is funny, especially yourself!  You have the best smile and are loved beyond belief!  We are so lucky to have you in our lives and can't wait to see how you will grow!  Happy Birthday!

We love you so much!
Love, Mommy and Daddy

These are some of his amazing birthday pictures!  I love, love, love the A Walk in the Park Photography!

Easter Egg Hunt!

It is true we have been low on posts and to be honest low on fun, but yesterday we went to an Easter Egg Hunt at a friend's house and it was a blast!  Sweet Caroline and her parents hosted quite the hunt!  We had a delicious breakfast and spent time playing with friends!

Every time Nolan found an egg he had to open it to make sure there was really candy in it!  He outlasted everyone looking for eggs and ended up with a huge basket of candy!  He loved it!

Splat!!!

It was a beautiful weekend here and we spent as much of it as possible outside!  We also did a little painting!  Nolan had a blast using a fly swatter to paint.  It made a huge mess, but he loved every minute of it!

Sweet Eden

All day today I have been thinking of one of my friends that will travel to Ethiopia tomorrow to meet her daughter for the first time.  Like all mom's she has been preparing for monthes.  She has put together a beautiful nursery, washed and folded sweet little onesies, and stocked up on every baby gadget known.  The difference for her is that a few days after she meets her daughter she has to leave her and wait an unknown length of time to see her again.  I can't imagine all of the different emotions she will go through over the next few months.  She is one of the strongest people I know.  That sweet little girl has no idea what a great mom she is about to get!  I can't wait to meet her and celebrate all your new joy!  Safe travels and we love you!
