Daddy's Favorite Time of Year....

Opening Weekend!!! 

There is nothing that Jonathan has been more excited about since we found out we were going to have a baby than taking him to his first Rangers game.  We spent Saturday with Nana and Pops at a exhibition game between the Rangers and the Royals at Dr. Pepper Field, home of the Rough Riders.  It was a lot of fun!  Nolan even got his first baseball cap!

First Meetings

We had a very busy and special first Easter Weekend! Nolan got to meet one of his Great Grandmother's for the first time! She was in town for the weekend visiting us from Illinois. He had a great time showing off blowing kisses and waving. What a special time!

Gerber Hunt

Nolan had his first Easter Egg.... I mean Gerber Hunt at school! Apparently you can't call it an Easter Egg Hunt. It was so much fun! The kids and the parents really loved it! They started out with a special snack of strawberries, blueberries, pineapple, bananas, cheese, bunny crackers, chocolate bunny grahams, and honey bunny grahams. It was very bunny intensive! The Hunt was next. Each child had a bag with their name embroidered on it, courtesy of my great friend Holly! Thanks Holly!!! They were a big hit! Everyone brought different kinds of Gerber snacks that were "hid" outside by the teachers. The kids then went out and found the treats, smashed them, and then dropped them in the bags. It was so much fun to watch as them as they gathered their treats!!!

All Boy

It's funny how little boys never have to be shown how to be a little boy. We were playing outside with a bubble stick and Nolan decided it would be more fun to take the stick and start digging in the dirt. Let's just say we were in definite need of a bath tonight!

I couldn't be happier! I will say just in case you thought I might be making something out of nothing that I have had several people confirm it!

Nolan's Baptism

This past weekend we celebrated Nolan's baptism at First United Methodist Church of Dallas. A lot of our family was able to join us and make this a really special day. Aunt Veazey served as God-Mother and Uncle Kyle and Aunt Kristi came in from Austin and Aunt Laura from Houston. Nolan did pretty well during the ceremony, but did have a meltdown in the nursery afterwards. I guess we are going to have to work on that! Here are some pics from the weekend...

DO NOT FEED ME!!!

So after our appointment on friday with Dr. Lee we scheduled Nolan's surgery for April 20th.... and then they called yesterday. The scheduler (who I am pretty sure thought I was nuts) called and let me know that an implant surgery had been canceled and wanted to know if we wanted to come in today. My first response was "who's surgery was cancelled???". After getting everything sorted out we took the date. Since it was such short notice I had to do some juggling of patients. Thankfully Shari and Michelle offered to help me out! Thanks guys! I still needed to come in to see one patient first thing in the morning. Nolan was only able to eat until 7:00 AM in the morning. So we got up early and had some banana pancakes. Very tasty! We then had to go to school for a little while so I could see a patient. I took one of Nolan's white shirts and wrote "Do Not Feed Me" on it. I have to admit he did look like he belonged at the zoo!



Everyone was really great at Children's and very friendly! Dr. Lee was running a bit behind so we hung out in his room and played. Luckly we came prepared with toys and books.

They even had a car for me to play in while I waited! Loved it!!!

Everything went really well during surgery! Dr. Lee came out after about 10 minutes and said he did great. He was REALLY cranky after surgery! But once we got out to the car he was much better. We got home had some grapes and goldfish and off to bed! Hopefully no more ear infections!
